From 04 to 28 March 2026, the imagetanz festival will present new positions in choreography and performance. The festival offers a diverse programme with world premieres, workshops, and much more. There is a special focus on accessible formats such as Touch and Tell Tours, Scent Buffets, and get togethers. With LIFT Tanzkollektiv (Liv Schellander, Irene Giró, Fia/Sophia Neises, Tanja Erhart), Cat Jimenez, Maartje Pasman, Theresa Scheinecker / Ray, Katharina Senk / Senki, Carolina Cappelli, gergő d. farkas, Elena Lach, Ema Bencikova, and many more.

Welcome to BIOFUCK!

At imagetanz, the LIFT Tanzkollektiv (Liv Schellander, Irene Giró, Fia/Sophia Neises, Tanja Erhart) opens the festival with BIOFUCK at brut nordwest (04, 06 & 07 March 2026). BIOFUCK betont die Komplexität und die Unordnung des Lebens und macht so Biografien jenseits normativer Vorstellungen für das Publikum wie für die Performer*innen multisensorisch erlebbar.

A festival for everyone!

For the imagetanz festival, brut Wien has placed a focus on accessibility, with several performances and get togethers that are accessible for people with and without disabilities. It started with the get together How to festival?, continues with the open resting room Taking the time (05 March) and will end with Closing Cocktail (28 March), hosted by Elena Lach and Ema Bencikova. On top, there will be touch and tell tours as well as a tactile guidance system, a resting and a sensory regulation room, and much more to support everyone’s needs.

Taking the time – Take your time!

On 05 March, we will meet at brut nordwest and, together with Ema Benčíková, Elena Lach, and LIFT Tanzkollektiv, invite you to a moment of slowing down. We will explore how to relax during a festival – in the midst of it, and afterwards. What does your body really need to unwind? Accompanying the event at brut nordwest, we are providing online materials with scores and instructions for relaxation and regulation, so that people who cannot attend in person can still participate.

imagetanz 2026 – Art Work

The motifs for this year's imagetanz Art Works were created by Robin Lopvet, a visual artist and multimedia photographer based in Paris. He transforms retouching, collages and digital montages into striking visual worlds that combine fashion, web culture and art history. With a great deal of humour, he creates visual fictions that comment on the flood of images in our time.
