"JUSTITIA! Data Ghosts" Accompanying Programme

 On 17 and 18 January workshops, a round table and a lecture followed by discussions on topics such as the digital rights and artificial intelligence will take place. Including Max Schrems (data protection activist), Margarete Jahrmann (artist and pioneer of game art), Doris Allhutter (Senior Scientist at the Institute for Technology Assessment of the Austrian Academy of Sciences), and many more.

The series deals with forms, aesthetics and conditions of accessibility in the performing arts. Workshops, performances and discourse formats are used to discuss the experiences of experts, try out alternative practices and create new stimuli and impulses. The experiences of people with disabilities are at the centre of this process.

Hypnotic Tension

It is a Duet with herself that Inge Gappmaier stages in protect. there is no wind in geometrical worlds, creating a dance performance in an atmosphere full of hypnotic tension. Embedded in a haunting soundscape, she reflects questions about an isolated, narcissistic self and its (self-)reflection in a digital world. ELIZA, the first chatbot, created in 1966, that imitates a psychologist and guides users into a conversation with themselves, serves as particular inspiration.

Doris Uhlich receives the Austrian Art Prize 2024

On 10 December, the Austrian Art Prize 2024 of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Public Services and Sport was awarded to choreographer Doris Uhlich. The prize honours established artists for their internationally recognised Gesamtkunstwerk and is endowed with 20,000 euro. Congratulations from the bottom of our hearts!

Sööt/Zeyringer receive the City of Vienna “Förderungspreis”

On 27 November, the “Förderungspreise” of the City of Vienna were presented at the Vienna City Hall in recognition of the award winners’ artistic and scientific achievements to date and to strengthen their future careers. The prestigious 4,000 euro award for the visual arts went to Tiina Sööt and Dorothea Zeyringer. Congratulations!
