From 04 to 28 March 2026, the imagetanz festival will present new positions in choreography and performance. The festival offers a diverse programme with world premieres, workshops, and much more. There is a special focus on accessible formats such as Touch and Tell Tours, Scent Buffets, and get togethers. With LIFT Tanzkollektiv (Liv Schellander, Irene Giró, Fia/Sophia Neises, Tanja Erhart), Cat Jimenez, Maartje Pasman, Ray Scheinecker, Katharina Senk / Senki, Carolina Cappelli, gergő d. farkas, Elena Lach, Ema Bencikova, and many more.

Listen to your body!

In BUZZ by tanz.sucht.theater (Maartje Pasman, Ray Scheinecker, Katharina Senk and Verena Zeiner), bodies become instruments and sounds become touches in a lively body concert at brut nordwest from 19 to 21 March. Before each performance, there will be a touch tour for blind and visually impaired people. In addition, on 20 March, the get together BUZZING around will be hosted by Elena Lach and Ema Bencikova.

Bearly human

Two images are placed side by side. On the left, a grainy black-and-white photograph shows a bare back; the spine is clearly visible, with the head tilted forward and partly outside the frame. On the right, a drawing on white paper features delicate, overlapping lines: sketch-like bodies, arms, legs, and profiles are suggested in various positions, some fragmented and some appearing in motion.

For Part 3&4 of Handle with Care feat. Huggy Bears, Daria Nosik and Sunggu Hong will give you insights into their new projects at Bears in the Park Art Place. On 14 and 15 March, Daria Nosik will perform DOG, a piece about how a person, in order to fit into social norms, reverts to an animal state. As for Sunggu Hong, he will present Raised by the Chronic; Beyond, the Moth – a research project about human and non-human relationships. On 14 March, the party celebrating 10 years of Huggy Bears will take place!

Taking the time – Take your time!

On 05 March, we will meet at brut nordwest and, together with Ema Benčíková, Elena Lach, and LIFT Tanzkollektiv, invite you to a moment of slowing down. We will explore how to relax during a festival – in the midst of it, and afterwards. What does your body really need to unwind? Accompanying the event at brut nordwest, we are providing online materials with scores and instructions for relaxation and regulation, so that people who cannot attend in person can still participate.

imagetanz 2026 – Art Work

The motifs for this year's imagetanz Art Works were created by Robin Lopvet, a visual artist and multimedia photographer based in Paris. He transforms retouching, collages and digital montages into striking visual worlds that combine fashion, web culture and art history. With a great deal of humour, he creates visual fictions that comment on the flood of images in our time.
