Asher O’Gorman’s performance routes explore the paradoxical nature of boredom. In small groups, the audience will visit interdisciplinary performances and installations in and around brut nordwest. mind numbing filthy-finger potholes: a glossary of the paradox of boredom is an invitation to experience misbehavy performances, borecore-time, the uncountable slew of fidgety feelings and a true story about the privilege of being bored.
Think back for a second to when you were young and bored as fuck... what kind of creative or deviant shit did you get up to? Boredom is one of the most understudied, ‘so called’ negative emotions in psychology. Six performers from different disciplines inhabit the metaphysical states experienced when navigating the circumference of boredom. They challenge the stigmatisation that the relentless pace of capitalist culture has placed upon of the state of boredom.
In the big gapping hole of boredom you: wait for yourself, wish, empty out, yawn, pace, moan, dream, forget yourself, free float, live time, fight, try to flight, tolerate empty space, wait, waste time, die, mourn everyday life and ask the question what should I do now?
