The upcoming season at brut will be eventful: the audience can look forward to projects that were never shown from the previous season, exciting new productions and our new venue brut nordwest. Before summer we would like to give a brief preview of the first productions in autumn:
toxic dreams kick off the season on October 1st with their great piece The Art of Asking your Boss for a Raise based on the novel of the same name by Georges Perec, who is one of the most important writers in French literature after the Second World War. The entertaining slapstick comedy takes you on an absurd trip through an anonymous corporate world and is a thoughtful reflection on life in capitalism.
brut is also presenting the new piece by Sara Lanner at the start of the season. The young choreographer was recently awarded the H13 Prize for Performance and the Ö1 audience price. In her project Mining Minds, together with the dancer Costas Kekis, she deals with the change of our earth's surface through the extraction of raw materials and the ensuing entanglements of value, ethics, politics and power.
In October, the young performer Lau Lukkarlia will deal with our needs, the question of what we really need and what gives comfort. In the dance piece kneading to the 3rd millenia, Lau Lukkarila embarks on a journey through emotional landscapes together with the dancers t.Will and Charlie Laban Trier.
Further information on these and the many other projects in autumn will be published in mid-September. We look forward to welcoming you in autumn and wish you a nice summer in the meantime!
