HerStory retold

Two people cupping their ears with their hands, as if trying to hear something better, against a purple background.

Invisible Collection by Sööt/Zeyringer is an interactive audio performance about female artists whose works have been falsely attributed to men. With wit and warmth, Sööt/Zeyringer will guide listeners from 15 to 26 February through an invisible collection that takes shape in their imagination. They shed light on cases such as Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven's Fountain or Hilma af Klint's abstract art and question how much theft of ideas is acceptable in art. The panel discussion Authorship and Gender and the performative intervention I thought I had an original idea will take place as part of Invisible Collection.

imagetanz 2025

A close-up of a person with dramatic lighting illuminating their face, casting shadows that create an eerie effect. They are wearing a blue blazer, and their long hair is disheveled. Their wide eyes and slightly exaggerated smile give a haunting and unsettling expression.

In March and April it’s imagetanz time again at brut Wien! From 15 March to 12 April, the renowned festival will present a varied programme with new positions in choreography and performance. At brut nordwest, studio brut, WUK, Bears in the Park Art Place and FLUCC, international and local artists as well as collectives will present a diverse programme of world and Austrian premieres. Workshop formats, discussions, studio visits, artist talks and parties complete the festival.

The entire programme will be published on 26.02.2025.

brut accessible: Aesthetics of Access

Two performers are sitting on separate cushions on a stage with a red and white backdrop, facing each other. Subtitles are projected above them in both German and English, reading: '[Fia] It's probably taught in a very visual way. So all about the way it looks.' The silhouettes of audience members are visible in the foreground.

The four-day workshop Dramaturgy Blind Inclusive by Fia Neises and Liv Schellander is aimed at artists and interested parties of all visual abilities. It offers space to creatively engage with audio description and explore inclusive formats. One part is dedicated to accessibility in dance and theater and can be attended separately. Theory and practice are combined to develop a multi-sensory theater experience
