In order to understand the trembling movement of the world, it is imperative to do it from where one stands. I am a Mexican woman living in Austria. I, as everyone else, am an island connected in an archipelagic manner to the trembling ocean that is the world. The quest of this performance leans towards pain, towards understanding suffering as a complex combination of personal, historical and social pain. The performance will be elaborated around a real live psychoanalysis session on stage and other healing practices such as songs, prayers and encantations.
Frida Robles is a conceptual artist and curator. With the support of the FONCA Young Creators she wrote the book All love letters are ghost stories as an outcome of an open research on love for which she performed as a public scrivener in the Santo Domingo square in Mexico City. She is currently a PhD in Philosophy candidate at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with support from the JUMEX Contemporary Art Foundation.
----------
Ballade is an encounter with emotions. Ballade explores how these economies affect the way bodies form. Ballade collides, turns, sticks, circulates and organizes itself. Ballade curls up into a tear, hidden under a mountain of hair.
The term ballade originally stood for a dance song and later also referred to a poem form with dramatic elements whose narrative form maria mercedes access.
maria mercedes is a performance collective consisting of Julia Maria Müllner and Camilla Mercedes Schielin. In their work they encounter choreographies inspired by pop culture and shift them into bizarre settings. Julia and Camilla both work as freelance dancers and are friends and colleagues.

HUGGY BEARS is a support plattform by artists for artists founded by Superamas. It provides mentoring in various fields for emerging artists to help professionalize their work. The selected upcoming artists recieve a yearlong support that offers studio space as often as needed, workshops, artistic and administrative support, networking, public showing, sharing and eventually presenting under professional conditions. As part of the brut series Handle with care the currently supported artists give the audience a sample of their works eventually premiering in WUK in Autumn 2021 under professional conditions.
The Handle with Care series grants sneak peeks into processes of artistic creation, experimenting with new formats and creating spaces for talking and the exchanging of views. Artists get the chance to try out parts of their work in front of a small audience, to receive feedback and to turn spectators into accomplices.
A co-operation by Huggy Bears and imagetanz/brut Wien.
