Tanja Erhart (she/her) describes herself as a white, queer and crip – disabled and chronically ill – dance artist, pleasure and disability justice activist. In her decade-long practice, Tanja Erhart explores movement languages of different physicalities and movement aids, the diversity of aesthetics of access in dance, the implementation of access riders as well as anti-ableist and intersectional queer-feminist structures in the dance industry by focusing on the needs, desires and wants of D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill artists and audiences. She is an access dramaturge, performs, dances, choreographs, curates and teaches internationally. Her collaborating partners to date include Candoco Dance Company, Claire Cunningham Projects, Criptonite, Fia Neises, Farah Saleh, Michael Turinsky, Noa Winter, amongst others. Together with Katharina Senk, she premiered her interactive dance piece with film j_e_n_g_a at brut Wien in 2022 and is currently in a caringly horizontal, sensitively non-linear interlude of work*breaks. In spring 2026 the new dance piece with dance collective LIFT will premier in Ballhaus OST Berlin and brut Vienna.
