For Colloquia, Anne Juren invites individual spectators of imagetanz to her studio. In one-on-one sessions building on her performance Comma shown at brut in February, she takes her visitors on a journey through their own bodies. It is a personal encounter between artist and spectator, an intense dive into Anne Juren’s work and an exchange on a mutual experience!
Each session provides several opportunities to both address and activate the body on various levels: from the little toe to the stomach, from the hairline to the heart. These private encounters create room to start a dialogue both with the performer and one’s inner self. Using individual exercises from choreography and meditation, Colloquia allows visitors to discover and experience new things.
Anne Juren is a choreographer and dancer. After finishing her dance diploma at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Danse in Lyon as well as her studies of French literature, she attended the Trisha Brown Company in New York. Artists she has worked with include Krõõt Juurak and Annie Dorsen. At brut, she has most recently shown Comma in February of 2016 and before that her work Lost & Found in 2012.
