In cooperation with the Department Artistic Strategies with Art x Science School for Transformation / University of Applied Arts Vienna, brut Wien presents a performative and installative intervention as part of the Angewandte Festival. A temporary collective of students and artists will occupy the spaces of brut nordwest and invite visitors to follow and experience its work for an afternoon. The project has the title Sedentarily obsessed – sedated on the edge of our seat.
Places to rest, tools of work and production, partitions of space, sockets of authority or silent obedience.
How do they mold our bodies, our culture?
Take a seat and watch, as students of the BA program Transformation Studies. Art x Science dissect these antagonisms – using their own bodies to examine the sediment that our sedentary society is built upon – in a series of performances.
Accessibility
Parts of the project takes place in rehearsal rooms on the 1st floor. They are only accessible via a staircase. There is no elevator available. A barrier-free toilet is located on the ground floor.
