A Book Release Party with Live Acts and a Lot of Music
SODOM VIENNA initiator Gin Müller and circus scholar Birgit Peter proudly present their book Sodom Vienna. Queer durch das Rote Wien (‘Sodom Vienna. A Queer Tour of the Red Vienna Era’), published by Edition Atelier. The book release party will feature live acts by performers of the SODOM VIENNA team, including Denise Palmieri, Denice Bourbon, Stefanie Sourial, and piano music by Elise Mory, before continuing with DJ Drehli Robnik – shifting the emphasis to the ‘party’ part.
In their book Sodom Vienna. Queer durch das Rote Wien (‘Sodom Vienna. A Queer Tour of the Red Vienna Era’), published by Edition Atelier, Gin Müller and Birgit Peter discuss the collective SODOM VIENNA that, based on the utopia of the Red Vienna era in the 1920s and 1930s, stages contemporary Vienna as a queer-feminist, anti-racist city. The book highlights an artistic election campaign for more political visibility, shows how the Freud Museum was transformed into the SODOM VIENNA Gay House. Don’t forget the spectacular Circus Sodomelli and the SODOM VIENNA REVUE beaming historic 1920s personalities into the present. Not least, the book offers numerous trips to the Prater’s queer past, to the Old Danube, and a lot more. Denise Palmieri, Denice Bourbon, Thomas Hörl, Peter Kozek, Stefanie Sourial, Larissa Kopp, and other SODOM VIENNA performers will accompany the book release with a sodomite class struggle hymn and various performances, with Elise Mory on piano. DJ Drehli Robnik will continue the party according to SODOM VIENNA’s campaign slogan: Make Vienna a great pleasure hole!
