Noa & Snow – Poem #1

a gentle experiment between the everyday and the event

Poem # 1 launches a series of choreographic events at the Volksundemuseum in Vienna. As the performance unravels, the audience is invited to work on their daily writing tasks: applications, e-mails, long forgotten instant messages, shopping lists... Everything taking place in the space is to be considered poetry.

Alix Eynaudi: Noa & Snow – Poem#1

Noa & Snow welcomes the unexpected in our quotidian activities in order to turn poetry into a mode of living. If current political structures are based on highly regulated attention economies, we open an experiment into new forms of coexistence where our gaze can wander as we like. Intersections between choreographic/artistic practice and every-day life correspond with the space at Volkskundemuseum dedicated to the exploration of everyday-life art.

In Poem #1 a theorist, a light designer, a poet, a curator and two dancers/choreographers will be working together in order to make their practices resonate. Unexpected juxtapositions will explore tensions between different fields of knowledge, celebrating the arts of leaking and infusing. In the words of Gertrude Stein, “Act so there is no use in a centre.”

Alix Eynaudi lives and works in Vienna. She completed her training to become a ballet dancer at the Opéra national de Paris and studied contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. For seven years, she danced in Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s company Rosas. She has been touring the world with her own pieces successfully since 2005 and continues to collaborate with other artists. In the 2017/18 season, Alix Eynaudi presented her choreography Chesterfield at Volkskundemuseum Wien as part of the brut programme.
