Thomas Kasebacher and Laia Fabre have sent out the invite for a House Party at Hamakom, yet again indulging in their passion of mingling reality and fiction. In their new performance, notfoundyet address two topics that we have all encountered in one way or another over the course of our lives: parties and social behaviour and the associated entanglement of public and private spheres.
WITH CHANGING GUESTS TWO EACH EVENING: Marija Balubdžić (Umbra, musician); Tobias Müller (Cook and journalist); Christoph and Christian (Cooking duo einsundeinsdeluxe); Jeanne Drach (Kids n cats, musician), Andreas Strauss (artist), RASCHEL (musician)
Their starting point for House Party is the eponymous whimsical TV show from the 1980s, in which a group of women invite guests into their flat. Each episode is dedicated to a different topic, partly informed by who the guests are and which objects and subjects they contribute. In two successive episodes, notfoundyet create their own house party together with guest performer Deborah Hazler.
The collaboration between Laia Fabre and Thomas Kasebacher under the name notfoundyet began in 2007. Since then, nine mutual performances have been created from source materials the two of them find in everyday life and everyday routines only to sharpen and intensify their substance. In their work, notfoundyet often collaborate with other visual artists, musicians, dancers and performers. These co-operations form the basis for projects created in process-oriented rounds of devising. Building up on a basic idea, intense working phases are held to merge improvisation, text work, choreographic elements and music to new pieces of art and new forms of expression. Most recently, notfoundyet showed The Bolaño Project – An Introduction at brut (2016).
Episodes 1 and 2 of House Party, which are presented by brut this November, will be followed by the final episodes 3 and 4 taking place at WUK in February 2018.
