Mathea Hoffmann (aka anxxxious_t)
Mathea Hoffmann (aka anxxxious_t) is a performer, visual artist and DJ who uses a range of multimedia strategies in her artistic practice. One of her aims is to make artistic creation more accessible to a wider audience in a less exclusive form. To achieve this goal, she uses club culture as a tool to challenge the prevailing rules of an elitist society in the art world. She draws on her experiences as a trans woman, which she incorporates into her music and visual art, and breaks with rigid artistic categories and genres. By questioning the norms of a conventional perception of the world, she shows a glimpse of an alternative reality. Her sound can be haunting and captivating, creating a sense of tension and unease. Other times it is powerful, pulsating electronic sounds that invade the body and invite you to explore your own unexplored side. She is the founder of the event series KISSEN, which aims to expand and change club culture through the integration of performance and visual art. She is also part of the DJ trio Algoriddim Girls. The Algoriddim Girls were founded in 2024 and have been inspiring Vienna’s dance floors with their love of percussive and bassy music ever since. @anxi0us_t, @algoriddim.girls, @kissen.vienna
