Klemens Hegen was born in (East) Berlin in 1989. He lives and works in Germany and Austria. His artistic work is based on the examination of processes of social transformation and scientific texts from various research areas. A great deal of interest is the study of the functioning of remembrance, of memory and its significance in the constitution of identity. In an interdisciplinary exchange with other artists, the research results in scenic projects that question the border area and the field of tension between acting and performance art.
