To Speak Light Pours Out

Performance Austrian Premiere English with German and English surtitles Duration: 90 min
Wiener Festwochen
{Wiener Festwochen 2022} {Making Worlds} {Positive restlessness}

Joy, resistance and solidarity! In the latest performance by outstanding artist Kate McIntosh, whose works are characterised by powerful interaction with the audience and playful experiences for all the senses, four performers with percussion and voices open up a shared listening space. Driving rhythms synchronise the heartbeats, and polyrhythmic sounds underscore the positive restlessness of the politically poetic texts. The impact of the thoughts is electrifying, defying restrictive norms. ‘The words are wet and rich and full of power. Words that that make worlds,’ reads a passage by feminist author Rebecca Tamás.
The collaborative evening is a passionate plea for a change in language and in the world as it elaborates a diversity of forms of existence vibrating with a lust for life. To Speak Light Pours Out is an invitation to embrace a collective renewal!
