Sööt/Zeyringer invites you for a walk through your own neighborhood. A walk that you can start right from your home: an area that you have strolled through a hundred times, a district that you think you know well, a route that has nothing new to discover. More or less works with what is already there, what is overlooked and what seems to be of no use. Based on research and personal stories the audio walk uncovers possibilities to refuse the cult of productivity. When effectiveness is demanded in every aspect of life, doing nothing can be an act of resistance. Through poetic images and minimal collaborative tasks More or Less seeks strategies for personal degrowth.
This poetic and humorous little story will invite you to reflect, quite personally, what it means to do less. During the walk, you will receive simple instructions and tasks that reveal the hidden value of inconspicuous things. More or Less will direct your attention to what is already there, to what has been overlooked so far and to what is apparently of no use. Based on research, personal stories and poetic experiments, this audio walk will uncover possibilities and strategies of deceleration. When efficiency and productivity is required in every area of life, doing nothing becomes an act of resistance.

The audio file for the walk will be available to download any time from April 8th through 30th. You'll recieve a download link timely via email. A mobile phone or MP3 player and headphones are required. During the walk you will be asked to take a photo. Please send it to moreorless@sootzeyringer.com. At sootzeyringer.com/moreorless you will find an archive of photos sent by the participants.
During the lockdown, curfew restrictions apply around the clock in Vienna. Still permitted exceptions to this are, among others, walks. When walking, please adhere to the locally applicable safety measures such as distance regulations and please walk alone - Sööt/Zeyringer will entertain you with their story and accompany you in spirit.
Tiina Sööt and Dorothea Zeyringer have been collaborating under the name Sööt/Zeyringer since 2012. At the intersection of visual art, dance and theatre, their performances discuss both societally relevant and personal issues in a poetic and humorous manner. Recently they developed a performative teaching practice based on their artistic language. Their work has been presented at brut Wien, Tanzquartier Vienna, SOPHIENSÆLE Berlin, National Dance Center Bucharest, Bone Performance Art Festival Bern and Kunstraum Niederoesterreich among others.
