UNDER PRESSURE
Henrike Iglesias are UNDER PRESSURE. In a brilliant interactive COMPETITION SHOW, the collective dedicates itself to the PERFORMANCE PRESSURE omnipresent in our TURBO CAPITALIST society. The performers compete against each other and the audience can decide who “THE BEST” Henrike is. In doing so, they will try to subvert the violent and disciplining categories of WINNERS and Losers, HOT or not, A PHOTO or no photo and to reduce them to absurdity. By failing evening after evening in front of the online audience.
INFORMATION: The performance is seen on the screen from home. In the self-presentation arena, the audience is the jury and raises or lowers their thumbs over the opponents. Reviews can be submitted remotely via smartphone from home. You will receive detailed information about online participation from home in a timely manner by email.
To livestream the performance, a computer or tablet is required, as well as power and a stable internet connection. In this competition, the audience is the jury: a smartphone is needed to vote.
For Henrike Iglesias, phenomena of popular culture and the mass media mirror social situations and grievances, so they set out to shed a light on them from feminist perspectives. Henrike Iglesias is a theatre collective based in Berlin and Basel, the regular crew including Anna Fries, Laura Naumann, Marielle Schavan, Sophia Schroth, Eva G. Alonso and Malu Peeters. Their theatre of operations ranges from the popular to the political, crossing the personal. Their show OH MY! was invited to such events as the imagetanz festival (2019), the Heidelberger Stückemarkt and the FIBA Festival in Buenos Aires. Most recently, the collective presented their show GORGING at brut in February of 2020.
