Finally! Scout Niblett goes on a European tour for the first time in three years. The English singer-songwriter, who lives in the United States, has been on tour with greats such as Cat Power, PJ Harvey and Bonnie Prince Billy (with whom she teamed up to record one of her most famous songs, the duet Kiss) and has acquired an ever increasing circle of enthusiastic fans. Scout Niblett holds her fans spellbound with the distinct sound of her intense voice, accentuated by low-key instrumentation. She will storm brut armed with her guitar to present a couple of new songs that will increase the audience’s yearning for a new album of hers. There will be DJing at the bar afterwards.
Here’s what Andreas Borcholte wrote about her last album It's Up to Emma (2013) on Spiegel online:
“It’s Up to Emma is her sixth album and the best since her debut Sweet Heart Fever from 2001. (…) Dark, reduced, subtly aggressive, feverishly starving for salvation ‒ we haven’t heard a break-up album as suggestive as It’s Up to Emma for a long time; it will drape you in a black cloud of manic depression. But what is most frightening about it: you won’t even feel uncomfortable inside that cloud.”
Support act: Lukas Lauermann.
