Hamburg-based author and artist Hans-Christian Dany has long been dealing with neo-liberal self-optimisation, cybernetic theories on surveillance and control mechanisms and the digital and capitalist worlds’ faith in progress. To present his most recent book Schneller als die Sonne (“Faster than the Sun”), Hans-Christian Dany meets Austrian author, curator and radio maker Thomas Edlinger at brut. Their conversation will cover all the topics of Dany’s new book: the paradox of the constantly increasing acceleration and simultaneous stagnation of our society; a possible approaching end of the system; wants of safety and control; and the search for a better world hiding in an unknown, incalculable future.
