Based in Vienna Gawdesque celebrates their African heritage and its global branches through the music they play; genres of West and South African origin, the African diaspora in the Americas and the Caribbean to create an eclectic blend of sounds to lift community spirit, lubricate the spinal joints and invites joyful dancing. Together with JTiwa they are a resident DJ of the Vienna based Afro-Event Crew Vinity. Notable places they’ve deejayed at include Klub Halal x Wiener Festwochen 2026, the opening party of WIENWOCHE 2025, TRANS-DIMENSIONAL 2025, blechsonne Festival 2024, donauinselfest 2024, YOUKI Festival 2024 and eddy Festival 2024. The artist’s name Gawdesque honours the power of the creative spirit – ‘the god-esque in us’ – and serves as a personal affirmation of said spirit.
