Catol Teixeira is a dancer and choreographer based between Geneva and Rio de Janeiro. Born in Porto Alegre and raised in Rio, they developed a compositional practice rooted in translation, transitioning and the act of invocations. They studied contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne and Work.Master at Haute école d’art et de design Genève (HEAD). Their choreographies have been presented at venues and festivals including Pavillon ADC (Geneva), Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne (Lausanne), Tanzquartier Wien, Festival Actoral (Marseille), Santarcangelo Festival, and Festival d’Avignon. Their work explores forms of coexistence and relationship through collaborative processes and kuir (‘queer’) and trans-(dis)orientations.
