Becoming Allies

Becoming Allies is an open networking and exchange platform for anyone involved in accessibility, inclusion and participation in the performing arts. It brings together interested parties, allies, artists, cultural workers, accessibility experts and people with lived experience to share knowledge, reflect on structures and further develop inclusive approaches.

In cooperation with
Networking events, workshops and lectures – including at brut Wien and WUK performing arts – create space for exchange, reflection and collaborative learning. The focus is on issues surrounding accessibility, inclusion and participation, as well as the further development of inclusive approaches and working methods in the performing arts.
This involves both practical applications and fundamental questions: What does accessibility mean in the cultural sector? How can it be sustainably embedded in artistic and institutional structures? How can we achieve equal collaboration? And what does allyship mean in this context?
Becoming Allies sees itself as an ongoing process in which experiences and knowledge are shared, existing structures are scrutinised and new perspectives for the scene and institutions are developed.
