Before the performance on Sat. 17.01., there will be a touch tour at 19:00 at free admission, where Stefanie Sourial, together with Theresa Scheinecker / Ray and Katharina Senk / Senki, will present “little gadgets” and provide information about the performance. The meeting point is at 18:50 in the foyer.
With touch tours, brut Wien offers an alternative to verbal introductions to performances, focusing on senses that have previously been neglected during theatre visits. Tactile tours are aimed at people with and without disabilities. The format enables visitors to get closer to the stage, costumes and props via their sense of touch and explore them intensively. Visitors can also get in touch with performers and receive a wide range of contextual information.
Stefanie Sourial realises their own pieces and stand-up shows, including PHARAO IN DRAG (2025), NEW ENDINGS (2023), CITY OF DIASPORA (2021), the COLONIAL COCKTAIL trilogy (2019–2020), FREAK – wo endet der Traum und wo beginnt das Trauma(2014–2015) and Difficulties You Might Get Being An Artist In Austria (2011). Since 2017, Stefanie Sourial has been part of the PCCC* – Politically Correct Comedy Club. From 2009 to 2015, they were in Katrina Daschner’s CLUB BURLESQUE BRUTAL. Since 2009, they have worked and performed with Vienna-based artists such as Malarina, Denice Bourbon, Katrina Daschner, Gin Müller, Veza Fernández, Nina Kusturica, Katharina Mückstein and Kurt Palm. In 2007, they graduated from the International School for Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Since 2016, they have taught performance art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Stefanie Sourial’s performances, which are anti-racist, queer and socio-critical, combine two types of narration: the historical and the personal – always with a focus on the political. www.stefaniesourial.com
Katharina Senk / Senki (she/her) lives in Vienna as white, female, non-disabled dancer. She performed in pieces by the likes of Doris Uhlich, Florentina Holzinger, Sara Ostertag, Georg Blaschke and Michael Turinsky. In her own art practice, Senki works on combining her interest in post-humanism, pleasure and inter-sectional feminism with her knowledge in the fields of dance, movement and martial arts. Together with Maartje Pasman, Senki runs the association tanz.sucht.theater that has in recent years created exciting projects with many important companions, considering the idea of access on several levels. Senki turned to artistic audio description in late 2022. www.katharinasenk.com
Theresa Scheinecker / Ray (she/her) lives in Vienna as a white, disabled artist and psychologist. Before being part of PARASOL (TQW) in 2022, Ray had already appeared in pieces by Ian Kaler, Alix Eynaudi and Michael Turinsky. Her movement language is derived from various practices such as urban styles, acrobatics and contemporary. Last year, Ray entered the field of audio description based on her own experience as a visually impaired person. She now wants to share her perspective with the approach to create more accessibility for blind and visually impaired audiences in the dance and performance scene.
