The widely used suffix -g a t e usually describes scandals with far-reaching socio-political consequences. The installative dance performance deals with exceptional situations and loss of control, moments of amazement, the comprehension of the unassailable and what unites us. With physical poetry, -g a te describes the appearance of the unexpected and takes you into an elastic spatial construct that shakes the ground that was believed to be safe.
In the interactive stage design made of white strings, four dancers move in a collective singularity between clinical cleanliness and a playful interaction with gravity. They stir up dust, fall and float. Inge Gappmaier stages the human body as a dust-producing organism interwoven in a stretchable construct of scandals. -g a t e focuses on the shaking of logically systematized (thinking) systems, opens up new possibilities and questions the interplay between bodies and the structures that surround them.
