Khashajar Hani

During the first hour, the focus is on arriving together: Anahita Neghabat will welcome us and guide us until sunset with playful and creative impulses around food culture, personal memories, and traditions. Afterwards, we gather for a shared dinner curated by Khashajar Hani, serving as Iftar – the breaking of the fast after sunset. The meal offers time and space for conversation, exchange, and relaxed togetherness – a moment of arrival, sharing, and connection.

In the second part of the evening, IZRAA and Noura Hashem lead a collective Dabke session. Dabke is a traditional Palestinian folk dance often performed at celebrations and gatherings – a powerful expression of community, joy, and collective energy.

Selin Baran (she/her) works at the intersection of dance, choreography, and performance. She is currently studying dance pedagogy at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK Vienna) and further developed her choreographic practice during an exchange semester at SNDO in Amsterdam. Her artistic interests include exploring diverse movement possibilities, portraying everyday absurdities, and reflecting on processes of social transformation. She is particularly interested in formats of mediation and engagement that address intersectionality, identity politics, and classism, and that explore new forms of solidarity and collective care. Selin Baran seeks spaces in which playfulness, humor, lightness, and a caring collective are welcomed.

IZRAA (aka Isra Doghman) (she/her)is a singer-songwriter, rapper, voice actress, and activist with roots in Palestine, Lebanon, and Tunisia. She developed her interest in music at an early age and holds a degree in Media Communication with a focus on Film and Digital Production. She is planning to begin her master’s studies in the near future. She is the winner of the FM4 Protestsongcontest 2022 with her anti-racism song 9. November. Her activism and artistic work engage with questions of identity, anti-racism, empowerment, and belonging. Music has always been a central part of her search for identity and self-empowerment.

Noura Hashem (she/her) Palestinian Dabke trainer and cultural mediator based in Vienna, raised in a multicultural environment. Since 2016, she has been leading Dabke classes and workshops for children and adults through her association, Cup of Cultures, and is also a trainer with the Bisan Dabke Gruppe. Her work combines dance with cultural education, community building, and joy of life. A completed youth work training further complements her pedagogical practice. Her goal is to connect people through dance and make intercultural exchange a vivid, lived experience.

Anahita Neghabat (she/her) is a social anthropologist working in Vienna at the intersection of art, research, and activism. Her practice combines critical education, feminism, and the analysis of (anti-Muslim) racism with artistic forms of expression. Using memes, she employs digital imagery and satire for political education as well as a tool for resistance and empowerment; since 2020, she has been leading political meme workshops. She has been active in numerous community-based initiatives led by groups affected by racism and has conducted research on inclusive arts education and cultural citizenship. At the association Vielmehr für alle! – Verein für Bildung, Wohnen und Teilhabe, she serves as head of the Institut für Migrationspädagogik and as a trainer in the educational project PROSA – Project School for All! for people with refugee backgrounds.

Khashajar Hani (he/him) is a trained chef and has already implemented various food- and cooking-related projects in community-based and artistic initiatives, including Muslim*Contemporary, and currently works regularly with Vielmehr für alle! – Verein für Bildung, Wohnen und Teilhabe.

The Institut für Migrationspädagogik is a project of the association Vielmehr für alle! – Verein für Bildung, Wohnen und Teilhabe and operates in Vienna at the intersection of education, research, and social practice. It combines anti-racist educational work with migration-focused pedagogical approaches, fostering a deep understanding of discrimination and power structures. Through training sessions and workshops for young people and adults, the institute develops strategies for solidarity-based and anti-discriminatory action. In the project Migrationsgeschichten / Das is(s)t Österreich, migration experiences are made visible through video and photo portraits from personal perspectives. Using food as a connecting element, belonging is experienced as something shared, negotiated, and communal.
