Lone Twin was established by Gregg Whelan and Gary Winters in 1997 and is considered one of the leading British companies in the field of contemporary performance. Their key works include, for example, the six-year series The Days of the Sledgehammer Have Gone or the much-toured three-part theatre performance The Catastrophe Trilogy. For Boat Project in 2010, Lone Twin involved several thousands of people in the collective construction of a boat, which won them the prestigious Artists Taking the Lead Award at the London Cultural Olympiad. Lone Twin work with numerous festivals and venues across the world, such as BITE/The Barbican in London, Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, the Melbourne International Festival, the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, the Sydney Festival, steirischer herbst in Graz and many more.
