Workshops, performances and discourse formats on accessibility in the performing arts

brut accessible

The series deals with forms, aesthetics and conditions of accessibility in the performing arts. Workshops, performances and discourse formats are used to discuss the experiences of experts, try out alternative practices and create new stimuli and impulses. The experiences of people with disabilities are at the centre of this process.

The picture shows the sharp outline of a person from behind. It almost looks like a black shadow. The person is holding a microphone - very close to their mouth - in their right hand. Their gaze is focussed on a scene on the stage in front of them. The action on stage is blurred in the picture: everything is bathed in intense pink-purple light, with floor-length pink curtains forming the background. A white person sits on a round platform with her back to us, her off-the-shoulder top showing her bare back. Both arms are raised and crossed over her head so that one elbow protrudes pointedly into the pink room. End of the image description.
