hoelb/hoeb - LOST_INN. staging grief

For four days the exhibition and installation project LOST_INN. staging grief created a peculiar space for loss and grief.

Just before the end of this event we want to try to articulate these topics commonly. Therefore, the moviemaker and midwife Katja Baumgarten, the lawyer and funeral director Herwig Bichler, the manager of the Care-Ring GmbH Natalie Lottersberger as well as the graphic-designer and founder of “Names project Wien – der östereichische AIDS-Memorial-Quilt” Friedl Nussbaumer come together to participate in a round of talks on the last day of the project. All of them, in various ways, are trying to find new forms of visibility for the topic of death in today’s society and to accomplish new spaces and rituals concerning the grief of people. Is it possible to find common characteristics and goals, besides the variety of approaches and references?

The journalist and dramaturg Anja Quickert will moderate the conversation.

6 pm – Final thoughts and conclusion regarding the project by philosopher and professor for culture history Thomas Macho.
