The series Handle with Care allows insights into creative artistic processes and invites artists and audiences to enter into a mutual exchange. This time, performer-choreographer Oleg Soulimenko, visual artist Alfredo Barsuglia and dancer Jasmin Hoffer open the doors to a rehearsal for their piece LOSS, which will have its world premiere at brut on February 16th. This way, audiences get the chance to get to know the artists’ way of working and to talk to them about creative processes and aspects of their work. Conversely, artists get the chance to try out parts of their work in front of a small audience and to collect feedback. Handle with Care makes the artist and the audience accomplices. brut Extras is a series covering various events allowing new kinds of insights into artistic processes and opening room for conversations and feedback. Audiences, colleagues, neighboring institutions at Karlsplatz and the people from the city are supposed to experience brut in a more open and tangible manner, as dialogues and encounters become possible and new formats are tried out, constantly allowing brut’s and the artists’ own point of view to be drawn into question. brut Specials are not about presenting completed results but about showing the audience how creative processes ensue and thereby allowing them new forms of exchange.
