With this approach, the platform offers non-monetary support for a group of selected performing arts artists, focussing on networking and resource sharing. For the period 2025/26, six artists and groups from six different cities have been selected to be supported as part of this programme: Caroline Kapp (Munich), DARUM (Vienna), Fatima Moumouni (Zurich), Laura Oppenhäuser (Stuttgart), Mika Bangemann (Berlin) and TIGER’S KITCHEN (Düsseldorf).
Becoming Allies is an open network and exchange format. It brings together interested parties, allies, artists, cultural workers, access experts and affected individuals to work together on greater accessibility, inclusion and participation in the performing arts. Networking meetings, workshops or lectures at venues such as brut Wien and WUK performing arts create space to reflect on familiar structures and personal positions, share questions and further develop inclusive approaches for the scene and institutions. Key questions include: What does accessibility mean in concrete terms? How can it be sustainably anchored? How can equal cooperation be achieved – and what does allyship mean in the cultural sector?
The network forms the sustainable basis for continuous learning and development, new collective places, formats and forms of cooperation.
