Salon

Inspired by the classic ‘salon’ and the famous Vienna café atmosphere, brut has established a new talk programme to reflect festival culture in general and imagetanz in particular. In two successive debate rounds, three guests each will discuss their role within the festival and art scene. Visitors are invited to ask questions and join the discussions. For this occasion, burt the bar is restructured to become a café – and yes, there shall be coffee and cake and a real-life waiter!

Three guests, one mysterious letter, one topic: this is the setting of the two discussion rounds, each of them 30 minutes long, of the brut Salon. The core idea of the format is to create a personal exchange between the three guests that opens up possibilities for further discussion among the audience and the other guests of the evening.

Round (1) - Looking back to look forward
Three former curators of imagetanz, Katalin Erdödi, Bettina Kogler and Anna Thier reflect on imagetanz as festival in Vienna, its role in the city, especially ten years after the theater reform.

Round (2) - Are you enough?
The second round with the title Are you enough? is a conversation about the political dimension in the everyday life and in the work of three artists: Claudia Bosse, Christine Gaigg and Amanda Piña.
