Since 2007, Saturdance has been an integral part of the programme of Tanz die Toleranz, taking place on Saturdays between 1 and 3 pm at Brunnenpassage. Attendance is free of charge, no prior experience in dancing is required. This provides a low-threshold, accessible way of experiencing dance as an art form, especially for participants who have not had previous access to dance and movement.

In the workshop on March 17^th, Sara Lanner will introduce the basic techniques of contemporary dance. Based on the concepts of “momentum” and “impulse”, participants will delve into fluent, even dynamic motion sequences and maybe try out elements of movement improvisation. Step by step, the group will devise extensive choreographies that sill leave room for exploring individual expressions and fresh qualities of movement. In her teaching, Sara Lanner likes to combine dance technique with playful approaches; so, fun and enjoyable movement is guaranteed.

Sara Lanner is a freelance choreographer, dancer and performance artist. She studied contemporary dance and dance education at IDA in Linz. At the moment, she is studying performative art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Sara Lanner is a recipient of the START scholarship of the Austrian Federal Chancellor’s Office and had residencies at Tanzquartier Wien, the Vienna Dance Festival, Lokomotiva Skopje, Uferstudios Berlin and others.
