„For a moment, we can go inside the head of an artist, immerse ourselves in his ideas through the prism of his computer. We see how he writes, deletes, corrects and surfs the web. We discover his archives, his mechanisms of association, organisation, the way things are ordered and disordered.“ Federico León
Federico León is a director in both theatre and film, moving back and forth between these two disciplines permanently and unmistakably. In his plays and films, these two artistic universes overlap and influence each other in constant interaction.
León’s current stage work focuses on the process of creative production and how project ideas emerge and evolve between the poles of banality and genius associated with artistic work processes. He shares with the audience the inceptive moments of a project: how ideas bounce around and how they are sometimes cultivated and made reality or just as often discarded. The result of all this is an amusing dialogue between two artists exchanging views on triviality and creativity, a ping pong of ideas increasingly pushing the protagonists off their tracks.
Federico León, who will take to the stage for the first time in twenty years, uses this text to not only reflect on his own creative work but also on himself as an artist and at the same time to question the often inflated perception of the way artistic production takes place. Born in Argentina in 1975, León now works as a director, actor, performer and writer. His works have been awarded numerous accolades and presented all over the world.
