CHRISTOPHE SLAGMUYLDER (b. 1967 in Brussels) graduated in Art History (contemporary art) at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He started his career as a teacher of visual theory at La Cambre, the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuels (ENSAV) in Brussels. Since 1994, while keeping teaching positions, he has been involved in the performing arts, working for Brussels based artists and art houses, first in the production, then in the programming. In 2002, he joined the programming team of the Kunstenfestivaldesarts. Since 2018 he is the artistic director of the international festival Wiener Festwochen.
