All over Vienna has been the motto of the last months. Thanks for joining brut on a tour through 15 districts and 30 venues. The next season is coming up and here is a sneak preview on what is going to happen in and with brut this autumn. Our nomadic journey will continue a little longer – the renovation of Künstlerhaus is still lasting – and besides venues all over Vienna we will open the studio brut at Zieglergasse 25 as a permanent venue this autumn.
On 11 October Gin Müller opens the brut season there with a big group piece, which rewrites the canon of classic theatre history by referencing topics such as class or gender. Mermaids and the human animalistic complex are the central elements of a choreography by Claire Lefèvre. A musical highlight is brought to studio brut by director Julie Pfleiderer together with composer Oxana Omelchuk and the Ictus Ensemble in cooperation with Wien Modern. The murderous sisters of Lainz and questions about the desire to kill, perpetrators and victims are central to the new piece by the Rabtaldirndln. And finally, before christmas, Simon Mayer’s requiem piece with musician and dancer Matteo Haitzmann will be a ritual and spiritual highlight.
Besides these and other projects on stage, brut+ will again conquer many places in Vienna this autumn. The performance collective Nesterval scrutinizes common cliches of the concept of „Heimat“ in a Viennese Heurigen while Club Real starts a democratic political field experiment on a fallow in the 21th district. Furthermore, Fanni Futterknecht is stageing tableau like images of demonstrations and protests at Nordbahnhalle and irreality.tv’s long-term project NIGHTWATCH celebrates its finale with a glamorous film premiere at Stadtkino.
These and many other projects await you this autumn at brut starting on 11 Otober.
